Karen Grépin: Women are most affected by pandemics
Karen A. Grépin, associate professor at the School of Public Health at the University of Hong Kong, co-authored a commentary published on Nature recently urging governments to gather data and target policy to support women as women are more affected by the social and economic impacts of Covid-19 than men.
The article proposed the three priorities to support women are to tackle domestic violence; ensure access to sexual- and reproductive-health services; and support women’s livelihoods.
