[Guardian] Coronavirus ‘could infect 60% of the global population if unchecked’

  • Professor Gabriel Leung, Dean of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong, warned that the coronavirus epidemic could spread to about two-thirds of the world’s population if its not controlled.
  • Prof Gabriel Leung also said the overriding question is to figure out the size and shape of the worldwide epidemic. The second priority is to find out whether the drastic measures taken by China to prevent the spread have worked; if so, other countries should think about adopting them.
